Florence and the Machine - "How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful" Album

In February 2015, Florence and the Machine simultaneously announced their third studio album, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful and the album’s first single, “What Kind of Man.” Although the track was well received by critics, it only managed to hit 88 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

Leading up to the album’s release, one more single was released in April 2015. Titled “Shop to Wreck,” the track consisted of an “upbeat, bouncy sound,” although the lyrics were about self-destructive behavior. The song was well-received by critics.

How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful was released on May 29, 2015 and peaked at the number 1 spot on the US Billboard 200. The album was different than Florence and the Machine’s first two efforts, as How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful had a more refined sound and incorporated a mixture of genres such as blues, gospel, and folk.

Florence and the Machine - "How Beautiful" Tour

After How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful was released, Florence and the Machine performed a handful of North American concerts throughout 2015, with many of the shows taking place at festivals such as Governors Ball, Bonnaroo, and Austin City Limits. Many fans were left searching for Florence and the Machine tickets due to the band’s small number of North American shows.

Luckily, Florence and the Machine announced the “How Beautiful" tour in 2016 to take place in support of their latest album. Kicking off on May 15 at American Airlines Arena in Miami, the 15-date trek will make stops across North America, including at Pepsi Center in Denver, Xfinity Center in Boston, and Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in Chicago, before wrapping up on June 14 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Don’t miss your opportunity to buy Florence and the Machine tickets in 2016!

Florence and the Machine Biography

Florence and the Machine is an English indie pop group consisting of lead vocalist Florence Welch, keyboardist Isabella Summers, and a variety of other musicians. After forming in 2007, the group released their first album, Lungs in 2009, which immediately climbed to the number 2 spot on the UK charts. The group soon found an audience in the United States after their single "Dogs Days are Over" was performed at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.

Following the extensive first Florence and the Machine tour, which lasted for almost three years, the band got back to work in the studio on their next album. Ceremonials was released in October of 2011 to a mostly positive critical reception.

Florence Welch is known for her unique fashion style as much as her music, and often wears clothes from second-hand stores that mimic the styles of Stevie Nicks. Welch has also stated that she finds inspiration from Kate Bush, Bjork, and PJ Harvey. Florence and the Machine has been nominated for a number of awards.
