Singer and songwriter Gavin DeGraw has quickly become recognized by fans and critics alike as one of the most talented artists of today. Going from performing at small town bars and clubs to selling out large venues, DeGraw's star has grown exponentially. He tours relentlessly around the country and his raw talent comes through when he is live on stage.

Growing up in New York, DeGraw has had a strong connection to music since he was born in 1977. The son of a prison guard and detox specialist, music was always a constant in his household. His sister Neeka and brother Joey are both working with music to this day. The story of Gavin DeGraw and his rise to fame begins after a short stay at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. After attending the prestigious college for only a year, he decided to attempt to make it as singer in New York City. It wasn't until 2002 that DeGraw met legendary producer and founder of J Records, Clive Davis, who signed him to his first major record label recording contract. It was under the tutelage of Davis that DeGraw released his debut studio album Chariot (2003).

Chariot proved to be a successful album for DeGraw, selling over a million copies in the US and certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. It feature the hit singles "Follow Through," "Chariot" and "I Don't Want to Be." The single "I Don't Want to Be" proved to be the most successful of the album, peaking at #10 on the Billboard chart. It also landed DeGraw a Billboard Music Award nomination and a Radio Music Award nomination in 2005. As a follow-up, he released a live acoustic version of the album that reached #56 on the charts.
