He has released comedy CD’s, starred in television and film, and performed his stand up comedy in front of sold out arenas. Beginning his career as a stand up comedian, George Lopez released his first comedy album in 1996 named Alien Nation. He followed that up with Right Now Right Now. He was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2004 for Best Comedy Album, for his release Team Leader. He has also starred in multiple TV comedy specials over his career. His first was “George Lopez Why You Crying?” for Showtime, and in 2007 he broadcasted live for HBO’s “America’s Mexican”.
Recently George Lopez has entered the world of sports, putting his spin on the week’s events in the NFL for HBO’s Inside the NFL for the 2003 season. He starred in 2005’s The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl, and that same year was named as one of Time Magazine’s "Most Influential Hispanics in America". As accolades continue to come in for Lopez and his successful career, he remains true to his roots and is still performing stand up. In 2007 George Lopez became the first comic to perform at the new Nokia Theatre L.A. Live.
