Grease Plot Summary
One of the most popular musicals of all time, Grease was created by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey. The show debuted on Broadway in 1972, and the music is still popular today. In 1978, John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John starred in a popular film version of the story. This musical takes place in Chicago of 1959. Danny Zuko is the leader of the T-Birds, the bad boys of Rydell High School. The new girl in town, Sandy Dumbrowski is a sweet, innocent girl from Australia.
Sandy and Danny are opposites, but they fall in love at the beach the summer before their senior year. After exchanging vows of true love, they say goodbye. But plans change, and Sandy becomes a new student at Danny's high school. Danny doesn't know how to stay cool and also keep his girlfriend. Meanwhile, Jan, Marty, Frenchy, and Rizzo of the Pink Ladies try to befriend Sandy, but she can't forget Danny.
