Hair Plot Summary

Hair the musical takes place in the 1960s, during the Age of Aquarius and the Vietnam War. In the East Village of New York City, a group of young hippies form a tribe and live in a city park. Symbolizing a typical young man, Claude feels torn between his duty to American values and the draft board and the way of peace, love, and freedom. Hair brings sunshine and rock music to the Big Apple as the flower children celebrate sexuality, marijuana, and mind-expanding drugs.

Along with Phantom of the Opera, Hairspray, and Mamma Mia!, Hair is one of the most popular musicals in history. Audiences love the music, and the band includes guitars, trumpets, drums, and woodwinds. With songs like "Good Morning Starshine," you'll see why Hair was named the Best Revival of a Musical at the 2009 Tony Awards, beating Guys and Dolls and West Side Story. The Tribe wants you to join them at the Be-in, so get your Hair the musical tickets now.
