About Hanson

Clarke Isaac, Jordan Taylor, and Zachary Walker Hanson formed a band in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1992. Singing a cappella, the Hanson brothers played the piano and wrote their own songs. The youngest band member, Zac, was ten years old when they released Boomerang, and he played the drums. They followed up with a second independent album, MMMBop. After they signed with Mercury Records, the group completed Middle of Nowhere in 1997. Their major label debut, the record included "Where's the Love." Teen and tween girls loved the blond pop music trio, and fans knew the lyrics to singles like "Thinking of You" and "Weird."

In many ways, the Hanson boys were the Jonas Brothers of the 90's. The band created a 1997 Christmas album called Snowed In with carols and some original lyrics. While they loved performing, the teenagers were outgrowing their bubblegum style. Although young pop stars like Miley Cyrus, David Archuleta, and Taylor Swift are highly successful, Zac, Tay, and Ike wanted to grow as artists and sell more Hanson concert tickets. Therefore, their 2000 project This Time Around featured rock songs like "If Only." Next, they decided to film a documentary called Strong Enough to Break about their experiences with Island Def Jam.

The band formed 3CG Records in 2003. Also known as 3 Car Garage, the indie label produced Underneath with tracks like "Penny & Me." They performed at Carnegie Hall and began to work on their next album, The Walk. During their next tour, Isaac got sick and needed surgery for a pulmonary embolism, a blood clot in the lungs. Luckily, the 26-year-old got medical help in time. The group continued The Walk Tour after he recovered, and audiences loved Hanson songs like "Great Divide" and "Go." Since breaking into the music industry, the brothers have sung at college venues, NASCAR races, and arenas around the world.
