About Jerry Seinfeld

In 1954, Jerome Allen Seinfeld was born in New York City. He loved watching comedians on television, and wanted to make people laugh. During his early comedy career, Seinfeld appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson as well as Jerry Seinfeld's Stand-Up Confidential, an HBO special. In 1989, fame pounced on the young comedian when he created Seinfeld, one of the most famous comedy sitcoms in history. TV Guide named Seinfeld the #1 "Greatest Show of All Time", and Seinfeld quotes like "Yada Yada Yada" and "No soup for you" are part of popular culture.

Over ten years after the final "show about nothing", fans still memorize Seinfeld episodes and watch syndication reruns on tv. Starring Jerry Seinfeld as a fictionalized version of himself, the NBC show had a nine year run. Seinfeld took place in the Big Apple and featured Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Elaine Benes, Jerry's ex-girlfriend, Jason Alexander as George Costanza, Jerry's friend, and Michael Richards as Cosmo Kramer, the weird neighbor. And who can forget Jerry's nemesis, Newman the postman? Seinfeld ended in 1998. According to Entertainment Weekly, the cast will reunite for a new episode on fellow NBC series Curb Your Enthusiasm.

When not on tour, Jerry focuses on acting. He filmed the documentary Comedian in 2002, and provided the voice of a bee, Barry B. Benson, in the 2008 animated film Bee Movie. Recently, the funny man starred in a Microsoft ad campaign with Bill Gates. These days, the comedian lives in New York City with his wife, Jessica Seinfeld, and plans to produce a new NBC reality show, The Marriage Ref.
