Leap of Faith is a new Broadway musical based on the 1992 movie of the same name, which starred Steve Martin and Debra Winger. In 2006, it was announced that the film would be made into a musical. The show premiered at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles on September 11, 2010, with Rob Ashford as director and choreographer. Alan Menken wrote the score, with lyrics by Glenn Slater. The musical is now on Broadway, starring Raúl Esparza.

Leap of Faith Plot Summary
The Leap of Faith plot revolves around Jonas Nightengale, a conman who poses as a faith healer and travels the country conducting "miracles" and making money off of unsuspecting townspeople. When one of his trucks breaks down in Rustwater, Jonas decides to hold a revival in the town. But his usual ruse is complicated by the local sheriff, who is trying to expose Jonas for the fake he is; a pretty local waitress named Marva; and her son Boyd, who hopes that Jonas can heal his disability and make him walk again.
