After making her break via wildly popular videos on YouTube, violinist Lindsey Stirling is embarking on her first tour. Stirling will take her unique style of performance to cities across North America from September to November.
After finishing as a quarter finalist on America's Got Talent, Lindsey Stirling took her talents to YouTube, releasing a series of videos. Some of the works are original compositions, while others are based on popular film and television series such as Lord of the Rings, The Game of Thrones, and video game series The Elder Scrolls, or covers of classic songs such as The Silent Night. The works have proved extremely popular; Stirling's channel currently has over 100 million views.
Born in Orange County, California, Stirling began studying the violin as a child, and later joined a band, Stomping on Melvin. Her skill on the instrument led her to win the talent category for America's Junior Miss. Eventually she landed the spot on America's Got Talent, dubbed the "hip hop violinist." After leaving the show, she began producing videos, first for her single "Spontaneous Me," and then regularly thereafter. Covering a wide variety of styles, including hip hop, dubstep, and classical, the channel quickly grew in popularity. In the summer of 2012, Stirling performed a number of shows in Europe, and announced her first North American tour.
