Rapper Mac Miller was born Malcom McCormick in 1992 in Pittsburgh, PA. Growing up in Pittsburgh, PA, Miller attended Taylor Allderdice High School, the same high school popular rapper Wiz Khalifa attended. When Miller was 15 he decided that rapping was something he wanted to pursue professionally. Along with learning how to successfully rap, Miller also taught himself how to play piano, guitar, drums, and bass.
In 2010, Miller signed a contract with Rostrum Records, the same label that Khalifa had been signed to and began working on his debut mixtape, K.I.D.S., which he released the same year. The next year, Miller released his second mixtape, Best Day Ever, which featured his first major hit, “Donald Trump.” Later in 2011, Miller released his debut studio album, Blue Slide Park, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and received mixed reviews from critics.
In 2013, Miller released his sophomore album, Watching Movies with the Sound Off, which debuted at number three on the Billboard 200. The album, which sold 102,000 copies its first week featured guest appearances from an array of artists, including Earl Sweatshirt, Ab-Soul, Action Bronson, and Tyler, The Creator.
In 2015, Miller is set to release his third studio album, GO:OD AM. In the album’s support, Miller will embark on a fall headlining tour that will make stops in over 50 cities across North America. Opening for Miller on select dates will be Domo Genesis, Tory Lanez, Alexander Spit, EarthGang, Michael Christmas Remember Music, and Goldlink.
