Rated 5 out of 5 by from A birthday treat! I planned this trip as a birthday treat for my ten year old granddaughters and their mothers. I'm not sure who enjoyed the play more - the girls or their mothers! It was funny and wise at he same time. Thank you for making it a memorable evening.

Matilda Plot Summary

To change the world, it takes a little genius and maybe a little magic, too. At least according to Matilda Wormwood, a young book lover who is wise beyond her years and discovers she has secret telekinetic powers. A notorious prankster whose intellect is severely underappreciated, Matilda sometimes uses her powers to play tricks on evil Miss Trunchbull, the school headmistress who has a penchant for putting children in a torture chamber.

Set in England, the heart of Matilda – The Musical lies in a young girl’s struggle to find a happy existence while coping with parents who dismiss her as ugly and a cruel headmistress who believes children are maggots. Books, school, and her doting teacher, Miss Honey, provide Matilda with a much-needed reprieve from an otherwise challenging life.

Whether it’s television-obsessed Mrs. Wormwood, sneaky used car salesman Mr. Wormwood, vindictive Miss Trunchbull, or sweet Miss Honey, there’s always someone to root for in this family-friendly show. Everyone with Matilda – The Musical tickets will fall in love with young Matilda’s veracity, sass, and big heart.
