2008 Season - Miami Dolphins Tickets
For the Miami Dolphins, the 2008 regular season marks a chance for a new beginning with new players, new coaches and a new front office. Rebuilt starting at the top, the Miami Dolphins hired legendary coach Bill Parcells as head of football operations. Given the responsibility of remaking a team that went 1-15 in 2007, Parcells hired new head coach Tony Sparano to lead the team on the field. A first time head coach, Sparano spent the last five seasons at an assistant for the Dallas Cowboys including four of those while Parcells was the head coach. As soon as Parcells took over, anticipation grew and Miami Dolphins tickets once again were a hot commodity in Miami!
Due to having the worst record in the league last year, the Miami Dolphins were able to select offensive lineman Jake Long with the first overall selection in the NFL Draft. Building the team on having good offensive and defensive line play, the 'Fins are well on their way to becoming contenders once again. You can join the excitement today by getting some great Miami Dolphins tickets from TicketNetwork now! About the Miami Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins officially became a franchise in 1966, when they joined the American Football League. Like many expansion teams, the Miami Dolphins had a rough start to their history. Under the guidance of head coach George Wilson, their first season finished with a record of 3-11, never finishing with more than 5 wins in their first four seasons. Then in 1970, history began to be rewritten.
In what is referred to as the beginning of the modern era of professional American football, the American Football League and the National Football League announced they would merge to create one superpower of a league. That same year, the Miami Dolphins introduced their new head coach Don Shula, who achieved success in the same position with the Baltimore Colts. His hire immediate dividends, as the team went 10-4 and made their first appearance in the playoffs. By 1971, the Miami Dolphins were among the elite of the NFL and did not disappoint. Going to their first Super Bowl, the team lost to the Dallas Cowboys and were denied the title. Coming into the next season, the Miami Dolphins were primed to make history. By the end of that season they did.
The 1972 Miami Dolphins are recognized now as what perfection means in the NFL. Finishing the season 17-0, the 'Fins went through the season behind greats like Larry Csonka, Mercury Morris and Nick Buoniconti, never taking their foot off the pedal. Defeating the Washington Redskins in the Super Bowl, the 1972 Miami Dolphins are now the measuring stick for teams every year.
