Music has been in the blood of Michael Bublé since a very young age. As he grew up in Canada, Bublé's grandfather was his best friend and exposed him to the sounds of singers like Rosemary Clooney, Ella Fitzgerald, Stevie Wonder and Frank Sinatra. While Bublé says he likes the music of today, it was the classical music that helped him see his future. After his grandfather played him a song from the jazz band the Mills Brothers, he came to a realization, "It was like seeing my future flash before me. I wanted to be a singer and I knew that this was the music that I wanted to sing."
As a favor to his grandfather, Bublé began to learn the songs that his grandfather loved so much and entered into local talent competitions. His talent shined through as he won the competitions, only to be later disqualified for being too young. But once again it was his grandfather who helped him out again, imploring local musicians to allow the young singer to perform with them. By the time he reached the age of 17, Bublé had years of experience and took it to win first place at the Canadian Youth Talent Search and record multiple independent records.
Bublé's big break came after his music was introduced to former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney. Mulroney had received a copy of Bublé's demo and absolutely loved his music. Bublé was invited to perform at the prime minister's daughter's wedding, where he was introduced to Warner Bros. executive David Foster. Soon after the two met, Bublé was signed to a record contract. In early 2003, his debut album was released, going platinum and reaching the top ten of the album charts in the UK and Canada. Bublé won big at the 2004 Juno awards, claiming the 'New Artist of the Year' award. He was also nominated for the 'Album of the Year' award.
Since the release of his first album, Bublé has come out with multiple hit records that have been met with more critical acclaim. In 2006, his album It's Time won Juno Awards for 'Pop Album of the Year', 'Album of the Year', 'Artist of the Year', and 'Single of the Year'. In 2007, he released Call Me Irresponsible, which featured a single, "Comin' Home Baby," recorded with Boyz II Men. The album won a 2008 Grammy Award for 'Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album'. In 2009 Bublé released Crazy Love. Both albums topped the charts.
In addition to his recording success, Bublé has been a popular touring artist. He will once again show the talent that has gained him thousands of fans when he goes on tour in 2010. Tickets are on sale now, so choose TicketNetwork and enjoy deals on hard-to-find Michael Bublé tickets!
