About the Milwaukee Bucks

The Milwaukee Bucks franchise was founded in 1968 when the NBA awarded the city of Milwaukee an expansion team. Like many of the expansion teams before and after them, the Bucks found the road to be a tough one in their first season. As they finished with only 27 wins, no one outside of Milwaukee was surprised. After selecting Lew Alcindor with the first selection in the NBA draft, the Bucks' second season in the league was one to remember. Behind their new rookie, the team improved by 29 games and finished with the second-best record in the NBA. All of a sudden Milwaukee was the home of a contending basketball team, putting Milwaukee Bucks tickets at a premium.

With a core of great players on the Bucks roster, the team once again shocked everyone around the league when they acquired Oscar Robertson in 1970. His addition gave Milwaukee that added punch, and in only their third season in the NBA, the team finished with 66 wins. Going into the playoffs, people expected big things from the team and they were not disappointed. Steamrolling through each playoff round, the Bucks finished with a record of 12-2 in the postseason, including a sweep of the Baltimore Bullets in the NBA Finals. After just three seasons, the team was able to bring the championship to Milwaukee. In following seasons, the Bucks maintained their new success, winning more than 50 games in ten of the next sixteen seasons, including three more 60-win seasons.

Since their successful run in the 1970's and 80's, the Milwaukee Bucks have struggled to find similar results. The Bucks made another run in the playoffs in 2001 behind forward Glenn Robinson and guard Ray Allen. Milwaukee was able to win 52 games and capture the Central Division crown. They advanced all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals before falling short of the NBA Finals when they lost to the Philadelphia 76ers in seven games.

While many people may not know much about Milwaukee or the state of Wisconsin, one thing is for sure: they know and love their sports. In addition to passionate basketball fans, people around Milwaukee also have passion for other sports, including football's Green Bay Packers and baseball's Milwaukee Brewers. Whatever your favorite team, let TicketNetwork help you find the tickets that you want at a price you like.
