Modest Mouse was formed in 1992 by lead vocalist and guitarist Isaac Brock, bassist Eric Judy, and percussionist Jeremiah Green in Issaquah, Washington. In 1994, Modest Mouse recorded their first EP, Blue Cadet-3, Do You Connect?. The band was signed by Up Records, and Modest Mouse released their debut album This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About in 1996. The following year, Modest Mouse released The Lonesome Crowded West, which turned out to be the band's breakthrough album. Soon after, everyone wanted to buy Modest Mouse tickets.
