Giants Football Tickets | About the Giants

The New York Giants have proven to be one of the most important franchises in the survival of the National Football League. Having a team in the nation's biggest city would help the NFL develop fan attendance and establish itself as a league. Tim Mara bought the Giants in 1925 for $500, and before the first season had ended, Mara had already invested more than $25,000 in the team. Now over 80 years later, the team has a rabid fan base that sells out Giants football tickets for every game on the Giants schedule. Join the action and see the G-Men in person by getting your Giants tickets today.

The franchise has nearly always been a family owned team, beginning with Tim Mara who passed the team on to his sons Jack and Wellington. Wellington Mara, along with his father, has been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, OH. In 1930, Tim Mara hired Steve Owen to be their head coach and for 23 seasons he piled up 153 victories, including NFL championships in 1934 and 1938. Following Owen's tenure as coach, the New York Giants were led by coaches Jim Lee Howell and Allie Sherman; between the two, the teams were led to six NFL Eastern championships and another NFL title in 1956.

Following a 20-year span of being out of championship contention, the Giants hired Bill Parcells to become their new head coach. Parcells served as the defensive coordinator for the team prior to his hire and after a dismal 3-12-1 start to his head coaching tenure, his job was in jeopardy. But team ownership kept him on and in the next few years he began to build the team into a serious contender. His efforts culminated in 1986, when the franchise put together its best season with a 14-2 record and a victory in Super Bowl XXI over the Denver Broncos. Four years later the New York Giants returned to the Super Bowl and defeated the Buffalo Bills after Bills kicker Scott Norwood missed a last-second field goal.

New York found their way back to the Super Bowl in 2000, falling to the Baltimore Ravens. The winning ways of the New York Giants continued, as after a tough start to the 2007 season, the New York Giants began a run of great play that culminated in a trip back to the Super Bowl, this time against the undefeated New England Patriots. In an upset that almost no one saw coming, the Giants walked away with the Lombardi Trophy.

When the Giants take to the football field for their next game, make sure you get to see the NFL action up close and personal by finding the best NY Giants tickets.
