• The winner of the first PGA Championship, which was played in 1916, was Jim Barnes, who took home a total of $500 in prize money. In 2007, Tiger Woods was the winner and took home the hefty sum of $1.26 million.
• As of 2008, the youngest player to have ever won the PGA Championship was Gene Sarazen in 1922. He was 20 years and 174 days old.
