Alecia Beth Moore was born in Doylestown, PA, in 1979. The child developed asthma, and her parents got divorced when she was young. A creative rebel, Alecia wrote songs, danced, and sang in Philadelphia clubs, and she joined an R&B trio called Choice with Chrissy Conway and Sharon Flanagan. When the band broke up, the teen pop star and songwriter dyed her hair and kept singing. Alecia released her debut hip hop album, Can't Take Me Home, in 2000. "There You Go" and "You Make Me Sick" reached the Top Ten and established her rock music persona, and she also opened for the 'N Sync No Strings Attached Tour.
2001 was a pivotal year, as Pink met her future husband at the X Games and released a new album. Named Carey Hart, her friend was a motocross racer, and Missundaztood featured "Don't Let Me Get Me," "Just Like a Pill," and a collaboration with Steven Tyler of Aerosmith called "Misery." For the Moulin Rouge soundtrack, the artist joined Mya, Lil Kim, and Christina Aguilera to sing a remake of a Patti Labelle song, "Lady Marmalade." Scoring a Grammy Award, this hit pushed her career to the next level and exposed her to a wider audience. She completed Try This in 2003, and fans lined up for discount P!nk concert tickets.
After proposing to her boyfriend, P!nk walked down the aisle to a Billy Joel song in 2006. Although she brought out her feminine side with a white wedding dress, the album I'm Not Dead maintained a strong music style with singles like "Who Knew." Producing hits, she worked with stars like The Indigo Girls, Annie Lennox, and India.Arie. But marriage was challenging, and Pink almost got divorced. While she channeled her anger into the Funhouse album, the singer still cared about her husband. Now the couple is closer than ever, but their breakup inspired Pink lyrics. And this fall, the icon is preparing to tour America with The Ting Tings.
