Chicago's Union Park will once again play host to the Pitchfork Music Festival, which will host numerous artists and bands from July 19-21. Check back later this year for line-up information.
The Intonation Festival, the forerunner of the Pitchfork Festival, was first managed in 2005 by Pitchfork Media, working for promotion company Skyline Chicago. The following year Pitchfork launched their own festival, inviting more than 40 indie bands to play at Union Park in Chicago.
In 2007, Skyline opted not to renew its festival, leaving Pitchfork as the only big early summer event. Since then Pitchfork Music Festival tickets have sold out for the Union Park event every year by scheduling bands like Broken Social Scene, LCD Soundsystem, Public Enemy, and Sonic Youth.
