About Rascal Flatts
It didn't take long for the members of Rascal Flatts to become one of the most successful acts in country music. Rascal Flatts is comprised of three members, Gary LeVox (lead vocals), Jay DeMarcus (bass guitar) and Joe Don Rooney (lead guitar). Their history dates back to 1992 when Jay DeMarcus moved to Nashville to find work as a musician. He persuaded his second cousin, Gary LeVox, to move to Nashville as well in 1997 to work as a singer. They made their way performing around the bar scene of music city, when their part time guitarist could not make a weekend show. They invited Joe Don Rooney to sit in with them, the group clicked that day and Rascal Flatts was officially born.
In 2000, Rascal Flatts released the self titled debut album which spawned off four singles into the top ten of Hot Country Song charts. The album also landed them the Country Music Association's Horizon Award, an award that is given to an artist or group who has shown significant growth and popularity. Their sophomore album, Melt (2002) reached #1 on the Country Chart and went 3x Platinum. Their following three studio albums, Feels Like Today (2004), Me and My Gang (2006) and Still Feels Good (2007), each reached platinum status or higher. Along with that honor each of the three albums made it to #1 on the Billboard Country and US 200 charts. The Rascal Flatts will release their first compilation album, Greatest Hits Volume 1, on October 28.
