About Ringo Starr

From his time with the iconic band The Beatles to his successful run as a solo artist, Ringo Starr has made his indelible mark on the face of music. His influence on the artists of today, especially drummers, span across the musical genres. Ringo Starr continues to tour and play concerts, around the country and beyond, and while it may not compare to "Beatlemania," thousands of fans will be waiting for their opportunity to get the best Ringo Starr tickets available!

Ringo Starr was born Richard Starkey in 1940 in Liverpool, England. It was in Liverpool that he was a member of bands like the Eddie Miles Band and the Raving Texans. It was in 1962 that The Beatles were looking for a replacement for their original drummer, and had previously known Starr, who was their natural choice. As a member of The Beatles, Ringo Starr went onto achieve international stardom. Playing drums on hit songs like "I Want to Hold Your Hand" and "Can't Buy Me Love," he became one of the most admired musicians of the era. While he was the least prominent member of the group, Ringo Starr has been able to separate himself from the others and create a solo career of his own.

When The Beatles dissolved in 1970, Starr immediately began recording solo albums, and by the end of that year he had already released two albums. Beaucoups of Blues and Sentimental Journey were released that year, with the latter reaching #7 in the UK and the top 25 in the US, making people take notice that he had talents beyond The Beatles. It was Ringo Starr's second single, "It Don't Come Easy," that climbed the Billboard charts and was the first of a string of seven consecutive singles that would reach the US Top Ten. Other singles included "Back Off Boogaloo," "Oh My My" and "No No Song," but it was "Photograph" and "You're Sixteen" that were the most successful for Ringo Starr, with both reaching the #1 spot. The early 1970's is when Ringo Starr saw his greatest success, but over the years he has continued to record and tour with many of his legions of fans always looking for Ringo Starr tickets. Some of his most recent albums include Ringo Rama (2003), Choose Love (2005) and Liverpool 8 (2008).

See why musicians like Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters, Liberty DeVitto of the band for Billy Joel, and Max Weinberg of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band consider Ringo Starr such an influence on their careers.
