About Rock on the Range
The Hangout Music Festival was founded in 2007 in Columbus, OH, with 14 hard rock and metal bands including ZZ Top, Evanescence, and Velvet Revolver playing. The festival quickly expanded to two days and 26 bands for its second year, and by its third had three stages. In 2011 the festival added a pre-party on Friday night with four bands, which was extended into a third full day in 2013.
