In March 2016, Shinedown announced that they will be headlining the 2016 edition of the traveling festival, "Carnival of Madness." Made up of various rock bands, the "Carnival of Madness" will begin on July 20 at Landers Center in Southaven, MS. From there, the circuit will hit other cities across the United States, including St. Louis, New Orleans, Nashville, Brooklyn, Chicago, and Detroit.
Shinedown released their fifth studio album, Threat to Survival on September 18, 2015. The album's tracks "Cut the Cord" and "State of My Head" were released as singles.
The album received mixed reviews from music critics, but it still managed to reach high rankings on Billboard charts. Threat to Survival peaked at number six on the US Billboard 200, number two on the US Top Rock Albums chart, and number one on the US Top Hard Rock Albums chart.
Shinedown is a hard rock band that was founded in Jacksonville, FL in 2001 by vocalist Brent Smith, bassist Brad Stewart, guitarist Jasin Todd, and drummer Barry Kerch. The band released their debut album, Leave a Whisper in 2003. The record and the tour that followed were both successful, and Shinedown quickly returned to the studio to begin work on their sophomore album, Is and Them. The album's lead single, "Save Me," held the number one spot on the Active Rock Charts for twelve weeks straight, setting a record for the band.
Fast Forward to today, and Shinedown consists of Brent Smith, Barry Kerch, Zach Myers, and Eric Bass. The band has sold over six million albums worldwide.
