About Sister Act Tickets
In 1992, Sister Act the movie was released, starring Whoopi Goldberg as a woman who poses as a nun to hide from her violent boyfriend. The movie was a hit, spawning a sequel in 1993. In 2006, a stage musical adaptation of the film was created, making its debut at the Pasadena Playhouse in Pasadena, CA, on October 24 of that year. The show received rave reviews and ultimately moved to the West End in London in 2009. The musical moved to Broadway in 2011, where it was nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Sister Act Plot Summary
Sister Act follows a woman named Deloris who witnesses her boyfriend commit a murder and then must find shelter at a nunnery. Posing as a nun herself, she tries to adapt to the pious life of a nun and ends up directing the convent's choir, as her nightclub background has prepared her musically.
