Although the Cardinals have had several home stadiums, they currently call the new Busch Stadium their home, which opened in 2006.

As a wildly successful franchise, the St. Louis Cardinals have earned 12 division titles, 19 National League pennants, and 11 World Series championships (second only to the New York Yankees). Its players have earned significant recognition as well: 20 league MVP titles, four batting Triple Crowns, and three Cy Young Awards. Famous Cardinals players include Bob Gibson, Ozzie Smith, Stan Musial, Bruce Sutter, Lou Brock, and Dizzy Dean, all of whom have been inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. In recent years, players like Mark McGwire and Albert Pujols helped lead the team to victory.

Among the team's current notable players are pitcher Adam Wainwright; left fielder Matt Holliday; shortstop Johnny Peralta; and catcher Yadier Molina.
