Rated 5 out of 5 by from Steely Dan/Steve Winwood It was a very nice mellow enjoyable concert event. Great parking, easy access, no worry, no stress. Both Steve Winwood and Steely Dan were great. Great selection of tunes, just a really nice time over all

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2 Incredible bands! The concert would have been worth the price if only one of the bands was there. Steve Winwood was terrific and I am a lifelong Dan fan.. Excellent place to see a concert

Steely Dan Biography

Jazz rock band Steely Dan was founded by Walter Becker and Donald Fagen in 1972. The two met in 1968 while attending Bard College in Red Hook, NY and began playing gigs with local groups, including one band with comedian Chevy Chase.

After Becker and Fagen graduated college they relocated to Brooklyn in an attempt to become professional musicians. They found little success there, although their song “I Mean To Shine” was featured on Barbra Streisand’s 1971 album, Barbra Joan Streisand. Soon after, music producer Gary Katz, an acquaintance of Becker and Fagen whom they met through Kenny Vance of Jay and the Americans, relocated to Los Angeles to become a staff producer for ABC Records. Katz hired the duo as staff songwriters and they too relocated to Los Angeles.

Becker and Fagen’s music was too complex for ABC artists so they formed their own group named Steely Dan. The band's original lineup consisted of guitarists Jeff Baxter and Denny Dias, drummer Jim Hodder, and singer David Palmer; Katz signed the group to ABC Records.

Throughout the 1970s and early 1980s, Steely Dan released seven albums and performed across the country, with fans always looking to buy Steely Dan tickets. Steely Dan eventually broke up in 1981. Donald Fagen launched a successful solo career while Becker moved to Hawaii and became an avocado farmer. In 1993, the two reunited on tour for in support of Fagen’s studio album, Kamakiriad.

After touring at various points throughout the 1990s, Steely Dan released their first studio album in 20 years. Titled Two Against Nature, the album won four Grammy Awards. Steely Dan released their last album in 2003 and decided to focus solely on touring, which they have done ever since.
