About Sum 41

Formed in Toronto, Ontario way back in 1996, originally under the name of Kaspir, Sum 41 broke out on to the scene of alternative rock and punk. The original members were Deryck Whibley, Steve Jocz, Dave Baksh and Jason McCaslin. The bands first EP, Half Hour of Power went certified gold in Canada, and Sum 41 immediately started working on their first studio album after that.

All Killer, No Filler was released in 2001, and to this day the band's biggest song came from that album. "Fat Lip" topped the U.S. Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart. The album's succes led to tours with popular bands such as Blink-182 and The Offspring.

A year later, Does This Look Infected? dropped and the band was gaining fans across the world. Their music was perfect for the punk fans in the early 2000s, and Sum 41 had one thing that every great band needs: talent.

Over the past decade Sum 41 has released four more albums, gone on numerous tours and won awards in Canada and the U.S. Sum 41 is embarking on a fall tour to commemorate the band's 20th year as well as their new album, 13 Voices. They will be joined by Senses Fail, another classic punk rock band from that era.

The month long tour kicks off in October in Florida, and the two bands will travel North America, hitting venues such as The Regency Ballroom in San Francisco and House of Blues in Chicago. Sum 41's last show of the tour will be going down at the Mayan Theatre in LA, and this may be the last time they tour for a while so be sure to find tickets now.
