University of Texas Football Tickets | About Longhorns Football

Texas Longhorns football dates back to 1893, and it has had a long tradition of winning. For fans, having Texas Longhorns Football tickets is a rite of passage as those sitting in the seats next to you are family. It doesn't matter whether you bought Texas vs. Oklahoma tickets or Texas vs. Texas A&M tickets; you experienced some of the best college football around!

The Texas Longhorns had the longest stretch of success during their time under head coach Darrell Royal, who took over the reins in 1957. Coaching the University of Texas for twenty seasons, he led them to three national championships (1963, 1969 and 1970) during his tenure. He finished with a record of 167-47-5 and the stadium the team now plays at is named in his honor.

While the Texas Longhorns football program is an annual powerhouse, they were unable to find the championship swagger after Royal left. But in the 2005-2006 season that all changed with the multi-talented Vince Young running the show at quarterback. Both on the ground and in the air, the team was able to finish the year undefeated and were pitted against the heavily favored USC Trojans. Behind a heroic effort by Young, the Texas Longhorns defeated the Trojans 41-38 to take the national title.
