The Columnist Plot Summary
The Columnist tells the story of real-life journalist Joseph Alsop. Set in mid-century America at a time when columnists were considered to be kings, Alsop finds himself at the top of the heap. However, his position at the top is put in jeopardy at the start of the 1960s when Alsop finds himself personally involved in the political drama he’d normally be uncovering.
