The Motherf**ker with the Hat is a play by Stephen Adly Guirgis about Jackie and Veronica, who have been a couple since middle school. Although they have their difficulties, it seems as though nothing can break them up—except maybe a hat. The 2011 Broadway debut of the play was very successful, starring Bobby Cannavale, Chris Rock, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Annabella Sciorra and Yul Vásquez. As a former drug dealer, Jackie, who's just been released from prison, is struggling to re-join the American workforce — particularly when his girlfriend, Veronica, still uses cocaine.
