Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing experience/New family tradition The show was amazing! Everything from the tree at the entrance and the numerous backdrops to take my kid's pictures in the lobby (which was free), the beverage and food items, and the performance, the entire experience was magical. The orchestra was great, the lighting was spectacular, the costumes were breathtaking, and the set was enough to leave you in awe. We will go every year, and even though our seats were in the nose bleed section, it didn't take away from the splendor.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Marvelous show!! This ticket company misrepresented the seat assignments and I would never ever book with them again. Just plain lousy. The seats were so lousy that I wouldn't have gone to the show had I known what seats were given to me. I was told at the venue to go directly to the box office next time for "real" seat assignments. Booking with one of these out of town vendors is risky.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful! I see two different Nutcracker performances each year, but this year the two I normally attend were scheduled for the same day! I attended the Long Beach venue to make up for the one I could'nt attend and I was pleasantly surprised with the live orchestra and "flying" angels! I will now add this performance to my holiday tradition.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic! When I was 9, my grandfather took me to see the Nutcracker. Since then I have enjoyed this timeless classic with both family and friends. I was very grateful to have had the opportunity to take my wife her first showing last night. Thank you for a fantastic performance!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BalletMet's Nutcrcker This is the seventh year my daughter and I have been to the Nutcracker, one of our holiday traditions. I started collecting Nutcrackers in 1989. My daughter began her collection when we saw our first ballet in 2010. It's always a wonderful performance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great performance! I really enjoyed the live orchestra and the ballet performance. There is no such thing as a bad seat at the Kauffman Center. I sat in the very back and could still see everything perfectly! It was quite the experience and definitely worth while.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing performance! Amazing performance, love the music and the artistry. Only complaint is the whole row behind us talked the entire time and I felt like the ushers didn't do enough to stop it. It could've ruined what was a beautiful but expensive evening.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nutcracker rocks!! We had a terrific time. Orchestra outstanding; cast (of thousands??) talented, energized and flawless; the geese especially talented and goose-like except they have better voices than the real geese. Amazing holiday experience.

Nutcracker Resources

The Nutcracker - Plot Summary

In 1816, E.T.A. Hoffman wrote a story called The Nutcracker and the King of Mice, and Alexander Dumas adapted the tale a few years later. Using Tchaikovsky music, a choreographer called Marius Petipa turned the plot into a dance that debuted in 1892. One of the most popular ballet productions in the world, this holiday classic ranks with Frosty the Snowman, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. The performance includes "Russian Dance" and "Waltz of the Flowers" as well as Spanish dancers, Chinese dancers, and other surprises. If you enjoy Tchaikovsky ballets like Sleeping Beauty or Swan Lake, you will love this creative fantasy.

Full of magic and wonder, The Nutcracker plot takes place in Germany on Christmas Eve. Two children named Clara and Fritz Stahlbaum are enjoying their family party. Their godfather, a toymaker named Herr Drosselmeyer, gives the children gifts, and Clara loves her life-sized nutcracker doll. That night, the girl falls asleep under the Christmas tree and dreams of the Mouse King and the Sugar Plum Fairy. After he turns into a prince, her toy brings her to an enchanted forest and the Land of Sweets, and they meet fairies and dancing snowflakes. This winter, enjoy the magic with discount The Nutcracker ballet tickets from TicketNetwork.
