About the Trans-Siberian Orchestra

In 1996, Paul O'Neill, Robert Kinkel, and Jon Oliva formed the Trans-Siberian Orchestra in New York City. A music producer, O'Neill combined dramatic music with strong lyrics that speak to your heart. With over thirty band members, the group blends rock music, heavy metal, and classical elements. When they perform on stage, the songs link together to tell stories.

TSO's debut album, Christmas Eve and Other Stories, included the classic "O Holy Night" and an instrumental version of "The First Noel." They released The Christmas Attic in 1998 and followed up with Beethoven's Last Night, which featured tracks like "Vienna" and "Mozart." They released The Lost Christmas Eve in 2004, producing beloved songs like "Midnight Clear." Their latest album, October 2009's Night Castle, debuted at #5 on the charts, which is a record for the band. Of all their work, the band is perhaps best known for the songs "Christmas Eve Sarajevo 12/24" and "Wizards in Winter."

During Christmas time, the group delights fans with holiday songs and a dazzling stage show that includes lights and special effects. Critics agree, saying the show is a fun holiday tradition like Irving Berlin's White Christmas. Band members include guitarist Chris Caffery, singer Jeff Scott Soto, violinist Alison Zlotow, drummer Jeff Plate, and other talented musicians. Bryan Hicks sets the scene as the Narrator, and Luci Butler plays the keyboards. When the talent of the band and the special effects are brought together, it creates a show that enthralls and amazes all who see it. Like the Radio City Christmas Spectacular in New York, TSO brings the holiday spirit to life all across the country.
