The UFC, or Ultimate Fighting Championship, was developed by advertising executive Art Davie in conjunction with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu master Rorion Gracie. Davie proposed a tournament where fighters from different disciplines would match up in a no-holds-barred-style event. The early UFC also tossed out weight classes, so that two fighters of vastly different sizes and weights might end up fighting together. Stricter rules have been implemented, including the addition of weight classes. The first UFC event attracted over 86,000 viewers, which is in addition to the thousands who bought UFC tickets for the event.
Since then, Dana White and his right hand man Lorenzo Feritta have made the UFC their passion and the organization has become one of the most profitable in the country. Some of the legends that helped propel the UFC to new heights are names like Georges St. Pierre, Randy Couture, Brock Lesnar, Anderson Silva and Conor McGregor. These fighters have passed the torch from one fighter to the next and the UFC talent only seems to get better and better, and as a result fans have taken notice. If you aren't on the UFC bandwagon yet there is still plenty of time to jump on. Seeing one of these intense nights of pure fighting live at the venue will make you a believer of just how great the UFC is. Did you see that?! If you needed any proof that the UFC was big-time, then UFC 205 was it.
Conor McGregor made history by becoming the first UFC fighter to simultaneously hold two belts in two different weight classes. An impressive TKO of Eddie Alvarez in the second round is how he accomplished the feat.
The Fight of the Night was awarded to Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson. The five-round epic battle ended in a unanimous draw. Tyron Woodley landed some ferocious punches, but Thompson withstood the onslaught and was able to deliver a few of his own shots. The bout lasted five rounds and the draw was controversial but fair.
Women in the UFC were represented well also at UFC 205. Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Karolina Kowalkiewicz had another epic battle that went five rounds. Kowalkiewicz arguably landed the biggest punch of the night, but Joanna's consistency led to her winning by unanimous decision.

UFC will end 2016 with a bang! UFC 207 tickets will be one of the hottest selling events in the history of the UFC. The original starlet of the UFC, Ronda Rousey, has not fought in the UFC since losing to Holly Holm in November of 2015. Before that, she demolished six opponents in a row and was one of the driving forces behind the UFC becoming so popular. She is scheduled to take on Amanda Nunes in a Women's Bantamweight Title Fight. Nunes recently defeated Meisha Tate to claim the title, but Ronda, who held the title for over two and a half years will be ready to get her gloves back on the belt.
Dominick Cruz and Cody Garbrandt will square off for the Bantamweight title before the Rousey-Nunes match. Another contentious fight, this one should be a fight every fan of fighting wants to see. Cruz is the champion of the division, but will have his hands full with young and hungry Garbrandt.
Cruz has only one loss in his career, but a terrible knee injury derailed his progress for years. He has come back in 2016 with a vengeance, winning the Bantamweight title in January and successfully defending it in June.
To end the year a champion, he will have to defeat Garbrandt, a 25-year old entering the prime of his career. Garbrandt has yet to lose in the UFC, but has yet to fight someone with Cruz's credentials.
Ring in the New Year with UFC 207 tickets, as the huge fight night goes down December 30th at the state of the art T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
