United States men’s national soccer team

The United States men’s national soccer team (USMNT) is the team that represents the United States when playing in international association football. Controlled by the United States Soccer Federation, the team competes in CONCACAF matches and has also appeared in 10 FIFA World Cups, most recently in Brazil in 2014.

In 2015, the USMNT comprises of numerous big name soccer players, including Michael Bradley, Clint Dempsy, and DaMarcus Beasley. The team is currently coached by Jürgen Klinsmann, who played professional soccer from 1981-2003, and coached the German national football team and Bayern Munich before becoming the USMNT coach in 2011. United States women’s national soccer team

The United States women’s national soccer team (USWNT) represents the United States in international association football. As with the USMNT, the USWNT is controlled by the United States Soccer Federation. The team competes in CONCACAF matches and has also appeared in all five of the FIFA Women’s World Cups, placing first in three of them, including in the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada.

Current members of the USWNT include goalkeeper Hope Solo, forward Abby Wambach, and forward Alex Morgan. The team is helmed by coach Jill Ellis, who took over head coaching duties in 2014.
