War Horse first debuted on stage in 2007 at the National Theatre in London, running for almost four months. A second run at the same location began September 10, 2008, and continued until March 18, 2009. The production then transferred to the New London Theatre in the West End, where the show has been running ever since. The show is now on Broadway, at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre, as well as on tour across the US. The show is a hit, and the Broadway production won all five of the Tony Awards for which it was nominated in 2011, including Best Play and Best Direction of a Play. War Horse uses life-size puppets of horses to bring this story to life. The plot follows a young horse named Joey at the beginning of World War I who is shipped off to France with the cavalry. He soon experiences all kinds of tragedy, including war, death and disease. However, Joey's previous owner, a young man named Albert, misses his horse terribly and embarks on a dangerous and extraordinary journey to return his friend to his home. See if Albert succeeds with War Horse tickets.
