Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? first debuted on Broadway at the Billy Rose Theater in 1962. The production won the Tony Award for Best Play, as well as the Tony Awards for Best Actor and Actress. Because of its success on stage, a movie version of the play was produced in 1966, starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. In 2005, a Broadway revival was mounted starring Kathleen Turner, and the production was later transferred to the West End in London.
