About Winnie The Pooh

The magical world of Winnie the Pooh, a bear of very little brain, was born in the mind of A.A. Milne in the mid 1920s. Milne conceived of the tales of Winnie the Pooh when his son, Christopher Robin Milne, befriended a black bear at the London Zoo named "Winnie." Christopher Robin so loved the bear that when he moved to the country, he named his favorite teddy bear (previously named "Edward Bear") the name "Winnie the Pooh." Both Christopher Robin Milne and his wonderful bear were immortalized in the stories and poems of A.A. Milne. To this day, children around the world are delighted by the Winnie the Pooh stories chronicling Pooh's many adventures. It was because of one such group of delighted children that Walt Disney first decided to bring Winnie the Pooh to film. According to Just Pooh, it was Walt Disney's own daughters that inspired him to create The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. The film has become one of the most (if not the most) popular Disney character of all time. Children today love Winnie the Pooh in much the same way their parents and grandparents loved the silly old bear.

In 1997, twenty years after The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh had been released, Disney studios released a second Winnie The Pooh film called Pooh's Grand Adventure. This second film was incredibly popular with a whole new generation of children, selling an incredible amount of tickets during the first few weeks alone. The third Winnie the Pooh movie, The Tigger Movie, was released in 2000 and brought Pooh's lovable friend Tigger to the forefront to delight children of all ages. Tigger's movie sold a huge number of tickets during its stay in the box office and an astronomical number of videos when The Tigger Movie was released on video. The Disney Company decided to allow Feld Entertainment to produce Disney Live Winnie The Pooh on Stage beginning in 2005. This show is an interactive theatre production, giving children all the entertainment of a film in a more interactive setting. Kids will bounce like Tigger and interact with the narrator and her "Hunny Helpers" throughout the show. Disney Live! Winnie The Pooh is 90 minutes long, including a 15-minute intermission halfway through, and it is jam-packed with entertainment!

Don't miss the opportunity to treat the special children in your life to a live theatre experience featuring characters they already know and love! Winnie The Pooh is sure to warm your heart, bring back memories, and be a topic of conversation for you and your children for a long time to come. Find Disney Live! Winnie The Pooh tickets today.

Winnie The Pooh - What Critics Say

  • "DISNEY LIVE! WINNIE THE POOH is a charming tale of friendship, starring some of the most beloved characters in children's literature - the hunny-loving Winnie the Pooh and his friends Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore, Rabbit, Kanga, Roo and Owl." - From BroadwayWorld.com
  • "The set of Disney Live! Winnie the Pooh was well done. In general the center of the stage was open so the characters had room to move about in (they are all fairly large) with very colorful side panels that extended into the stage to set the ambience of the current scene. At the very back of the set was a high quality screen that allowed for an ever-changing colorful backdrop to the stage and various special effects." - From DisneyMouseLinks.com
