Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great concert....Boy George what a treat!! The Orchestra conductor was quite a character with a great sense of humor! The music was beautiful. This was my 1st time at the Hollywood Bowl and what a treat! It was a beautiful night and Boy George/Culture Club how fun is that! You can still bring your own picnic baskets or purchase a large variety from the vendors. The bathrooms are even convenient and large. Great night...Great memories!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Danny Elfman LIVE at Hollywood Bowl It was really a magical night-- the extra-concert set ups from the trick or treating to the large projected murals were wonderful ways to make the night more than just the concert. However, the thrill of the live score with the original voice performers was a once in a lifetime experience and I was struck but just how much Danny Elfman really love to perform. It was a joy to watch and be a part of such an extraordinary live event.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Dolly Is Amazing, But We Needed Her Backup Band! So honored to attend Dolly's sold out 10/01/2016 Hollywood Bowl concert performance. The paradox of her authenticity on the inside vs. her artificial/imitation outside lives on, and her voice, her musicianship and her multi-instrument proficiency are always impressive. What the 10,000 or so fans who were not in the first 50 rows (AKA: Box Seats) needed was a little more production excitement on stage. The 3 guys backing Dolly were great, of course! But a drum machine instead of a real drummer in Hollywood, CA? Are you kidding? Employ a real orchestra for a couple of nights for the Hollywood Bowl. Show some movies/slides on a huge screen for these gigantic venues were the majority of us were sitting 1/4 mile away or more from the stage, but still paying north of one hundred per ticket. Why would you ask about the view and not ask about the sound quality in this evaluation of a concert??

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing memorable night! Already being a huge fan of the movie this was a once in a lifetime experience for me to see it in such an amazing venue. The whole night was magic. Danny Elfman, Paul Reubens, Catherine O'Hara and Ken Page were so animated and phenomenal that you could tell they truly loved their roles. It made the entire night one I will never forget. The orchestra and ensemble were also extremely talented.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Jeff Lynne Hollywood Bowl September 9. 2016 Solid rock performance. I saw them in 1978 in Anaheim, and this concert just got better. Jeff is a classic rock and roll legend with a blend of classical music. The concert was fantastic, and we are going all three nights, thanks to the Hollywood Bowl and the great Hollywood Bowl Orchestra.

Hollywood Bowl

The Hollywood Bowl is one of the most historic and well-known amphitheaters in the world. Opening in July 1922, the Hollywood Bowl features a unique band shell and is situated in front of the beautiful Hollywood Hills and the Hollywood Sign, giving concertgoers a once-in-a-lifetime concert experience.

Though most outdoor amphitheaters have seating and a lawn area, the Hollywood Bowl only features reserved seating. With a capacity of 17,500, Hollywood Bowl is one of the largest concert-only venues in Los Angeles.

Along with being home of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and the summer home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Hollywood Bowl features hundereds of concerts each year. Other groups and artists who have performed at the Hollywood Bowl include The Rolling Stones, Kanye West, Elton John, and Florence and the Machine.
