About  Kane Brown

Blessed with a rich baritone, Kane Brown is one of the most fascinating young country artists in the genre. Raised by a single mom, Brown’s family was sometimes homeless and moved around northwest Georgia when he was younger from Rossville to Fort Oglethorpe to LaFayette before finally settling in Red Bank, Tennessee. As a result, he attended many schools, among them Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, where he sang in the choir with Lauren Alaina, the runner-up on Season 10 of American Idol. He also attended Red Bank, Ridgeland, and Soddy Daisy High Schools. After graduation, he lived with his grandmother, who had also helped raise him.

Initially attracted to R&B, Brown decided to focus on country after winning an 11th grade talent contest with his rendition of Chris Young's "Gettin' You Home (The Black Dress Song)." He auditioned for both American Idol and The X Factor after the success of his school friend Lauren Alaina on American Idol. He was chosen for The X Factor after an audition in 2013 but left the show when its producers wanted to include him in a boy band, opting instead to post covers of country songs online.

Brown began posting videos online of covers of songs by Brantley Gilbert, Alan Jackson, and others. A cover of George Strait's "Check Yes or No" went viral, garnering 7 million views via Facebook, and Brown quickly grew an enormous social media presence that he parlayed into the release of his first single, "Used to Love You Sober," and an EP titled 'Closer' in 2015.

In early 2016, Brown signed a recording contract with RCA/Sony Music Nashville. That December, he returned with his eponymous full-length debut, Kane Brown, featuring the singles "Ain't No Stopping Us Now" and "Thunder in the Rain." The album debuted at number one on the country charts and peaked at number ten on the Billboard 200. Two more singles, "What Ifs," featuring Lauren Alaina, and "Heaven" appeared in 2017. A third non-album track "Lose It," arrived in 2018.

After releasing his second album Experiment in late 2018, Brown has continued releasing new material and several collaborations, including a Spanish-language version of “Lost in the Middle of Nowhere” with Becky G, a remix of "Saturday Nights" with R&B star Khalid which was released as a single,  and the hit electronic collaboration “One Thing Right” with Marshmello. He also appeared on Brooks & Dunn's album Reboot in a new rendition of their past hit "Believe". In 2019, he released the new song “For My Daughter,” in celebration of the birth of his first child.

He has toured opening for Florida Georgia Line and even headlined his own Ain't No Stoppin Us Now Tour, cementing his position as one of the hottest young artists in country music.
