Cincinnati Music Festival Tickets

The Cincinnati Music Festival has been bringing the country's biggest and brightest R&B, soul and funk legends to the banks of the Ohio River for more than half a century. This summer's lineup is no exception, with such icons as Janet Jackson, Charlie Wilson, The O'Jays and Snoop Dogg topping the list of acts slated to take the stages at Paul Brown Stadium on July 23-25.

The weekend throwdown that draws heavily from all over the Midwest as well as every corner of the nation, will kick off on the 23rd with Vibe's Party with a Purpose, headlined by rapper Biz Markie and BJ the Chicago Kid. Wilson and Snoop lead the charge on Friday night, with help from Fantasia, Tony Toni Tone and Jonathan Butler.

Saturday night will find Tank, Maroon 5 keyboardist and solo star PJ Morton and saxophonist Kirk Whalum opening for Jackson and the O'Jays at the event whose headline sponsor is hometown consumer goods giant P&G. “This is the strongest lineup for the music festival that we’ve had in quite some time,” said festival promoter Joe Santangelo in a statement. “Having Janet Jackson on our festival lineup for the first time ever to headline Saturday night, along with favorites Charlie Wilson and Fantasia, just makes this weekend even more exciting.”

Originally called the Ohio Valley Jazz Festival when it was first held in 1962, the Macy's Music Festival has grown and evolved into a spectacular two-day event on Cincinnati's riverfront. Starting out as an all-jazz concert, it has evolved and grown into a two-day festival featuring great music from the hottest stars in R&B, jazz, soul, and hip-hop, as well as up and coming artists. Past performers include Aretha Franklin, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Luther Vandross, Gerald Levert, Patti Labelle, New Edition, Earth Wind and Fire, Lakeside, Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder and many others.

By the year 2000, the festival was the largest of its kind in the United States, drawing more than 50,000 people annually from all across the country. The festival has been held at various sites through its 50 year history, including French Lick Indiana, the Carthage Fairgrounds, and the Hamilton County Fairgrounds before landing at its current home in Paul Brown Stadium on Cincinnati's river front. Accompanied by a street festival dubbed Festival 513, the Macy's Music Festival has an estimated annual economic impact of $25 million, according to the Greater Cincinnati Center for Economic Education at the University of Cincinnati. In 2005, Macy's became the festival's headline sponsor, and continued on for 10 years through 2014. 2015 will mark the first of many years in Partnership with Cincinnati based global company P&G.

Last year's Festival featured sets from Mary J. Blige and Maxwell, Earth, Wind & Fire, Frankie Beverly & Maze, Blackstreet featuring Teddy Riley & Dave Hollister, The Ohio Players, Major, Tamia and Raheem DeVaughn and the New Edition spin-off RBRM (Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky, Mike), as well as Kid Capri, Slick Rick and EPMD.
