Tame Impala To-Do list: Break genre boundaries, release unbelievable music, win award.

Since 2010, Kevin Parker's psychedelic music project known as Tame Impala has took the world by storm and has set a new standard for psychedelic rock. They project has released four studio albums with no signs of stopping any time soon. Folks, if you thought you knew psychedelia, think again. Kevin Parker, the head honcho of Tame Impala, conceived the idea in Australia in 2007. Parker played in several bands before the music project, which garnered him exposure to the public and different music labels. Before even creating Tame Impala, Parker was on tour with artists like The Black Keys and MGMT.

Kevin Parker handles the production of Tame Impala's music. Everything is written and produced by him. On tour, however, Parker has close ties with the band Pond. Dominic Simper, Jay Watson, Cam Avery and Julien Barbagallo tour extensively with Kevin Parker to create the Tame Impala live experience.

Critics have been astounded with the creations of Tame Impala since their debut album in 2010. Pitchfork named Innerspeaker Best New Music. Their second studio album was released in 2012. Both Innerspeaker and Lonerism went on to win the J Award in Australia, making Tame Impala the first artist to win the award more than once. The album got Tame Impala into some of the hottest festivals and gigs, like Coachella, Sasquatch Festival, and on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

Parker's psychedelic, distorted style of music comes from his love of the ability for one person to create a symphony of sound. He is obsessed with the possibilities of today's recording software, and utilizes them to their full potential in his music. The creation of his new sounds comes from using pedals and effects that are in many studios, but in different, unconventional ways.

Throughout the albums, Tame Impala has won a handful of accolades and awards. "Feels Like We Only Go Backwards" took the APRA Song of the Year in 2013. They have 7 ARIA Awards under their belt, as well as 2 Rolling Stone Awards for Album of the Year, and many more.

Tame Impala Live

A Tame Impala concert is nothing short of a new, undiscovered dimension for audience members. Deep baselines and expert guitar and synth performances are not all that make Tame Impala's live shows thrive. Their music pairs perfectly with their ambient, other-worldly stage production. Kevin Parker and the other performers almost take a back seat when performing, as the show is less about them and the overall product of the live experience.

Tame Impala's brand new album has only solidified and justified the sound they are able to create. Tame Impala live shows are in high demand, and will only grow increasingly harder to find tickets. Grab your Tame Impala 2020 tour tickets right here, right now.
