Opium Tickets

Opium, the wacky adults-only smash hit at Las Vegas’ Cosmopolitan, is described by one fan as if “...the Rocky Horror Picture show met Buck Rogers and exploded in Captain Kirk’s pants.”  Enjoy a pre-show “Spocktail” (like a Pan-Galactic Gagle Blaster or a Kiss My Asteroid) and then climb aboard the OPM (Orbital People Mover) 4.2, a spaceship that is delivering visitors from Uranus to Las Vegas for a raunchy good time in 2020.

Described as a “close encounter with a spaceship of fools,” Opium is, at its heart, a good old-fashioned variety show, putting a new twist on such vintage extra-terrestrial tunes as “Fly Me to the Moon,” and “Shining Star.”

The cast of characters is unforgettable! You’ll meet Dusty Moonboots, the spaceship’s resident singer, officers Captain Ann Tennille and Lt. Lou Tennant (who sings “Bicycle Race” while juggling and riding his unicycle), cadet Chip, Rob the Robot, ship’s doctor and amateur magician Roger Regis, bombshell nurse Raquel; cruise director Leslie, engineer Scottie, and Sputnik, the captain’s reputedly vicious pet Chihuahua.

Besides singing, dancing, magic and juggling, the show also includes sword swallowing, acrobatics (Sputnik is a participant), and bits that critics say “...defy rational description.” The Opium show is always “good dirty fun” and unlike anything else you’ll see in Sin City.

Sputnik later shows up in an acrobat act — and it says something when his antics get at least as big a reception as the cheeky sword swallower, the sinuous acrobat who dances with (and is eventually engulfed by) a giant balloon and the frenzied humans who turn masticated bananas into projectiles.

Make Opium at the Cosmopolitan part of your next trip to Las Vegas! You’ll find great seats to all performances when you search for Opium tickets today at Ticket Network.
