Rated 4 out of 5 by from Strong performance The show seemed somewhat constrained by the small arena (TCC), but the performance was intimate and excellent. Both Elton and the band were in fine form. Roughly 2.5 hours of strong renditions of mostly the classics you would expect. They did two songs from the new album, both good. The sound mixing was a bit off to the point of distortion. The piano was just about perfect, but the vocals were distorted at times. It evened out midway through the show, but was off again toward the end. The arena was surprisingly clean and the ushers/security were ubiquitous and friendly for the most part. In some sections (ours), they were nixing video, but were mostly ignored.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent show Elton played a lot of his famous hits, including "Benny and the Jets" which is my favorite. This song is the first song I can remember hearing as a young boy of 8 years old. That was the main reason I had to go see Elton in Allentown. He played for 2 hours and 40 minutes. It was an awesome show. To top it off it was also my birthday!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It was ALL I had hoped for! I heard everything that Elton John gave me many years ago. NOW, it was real. It was "really real". When Benny and the Jets started, the sound was so unbelieveable that I shook with excitement. The concert was transporting me back to the years I remember so fondly.

One of the most successful musicians ever, Elton John has had a tremendous impact on music, popular culture and fashion. Wearing flashy costumes and oversized glasses, John hit the music scene in the seventies and hasn’t looked back. His songs are all over the radio, television and movies, his influence can be seen in nearly all artists and Elton tickets are a virtual lock to sell out.

Elton John was born Reginald Kenneth Dwight in London, England, on March 25, 1947. He has always had incredible talent in music, taking piano lessons at the age of seven and turning those lessons into a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music four years later. Over the next few years, John honed his skills as a pianist as well as a lyricist, and in 1967 he responded to an ad for Liberty Records. It was then that he met lyricist Bernie Taupin, and the two struck up a partnership that launched John's career.

Each of the first three albums that John released in the U.S., Elton John (1970), Tumbleweed Connection (1970) and Madman Across the Water (1971), all charted in the Top 10. Over the course of his career, John has produced a string of hits, including "Tiny Dancer," "Benny and the Jets," "Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word," and "Rocket Man."

John has also contributed to film and theater. In 1994, he collaborated with Tim Rice to produce much of the soundtrack for the 1994 Disney classic Lion King and its musical counterpart. He also produced the music for Billy Elliot, Lestat, and Aida.

Now over forty years and 250 million albums sold later, Elton John can safely say he is a rock legend and will be remembered for years to come. John has won five Grammy Awards over his career, including two awards for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.
