When they emerged on the scene in 2005, the Jonas Brothers were one of the biggest things to happen to pop since the boy band heydey of the late '90s and early 2000's. With a bit of talent and a bit of charm, the trio became very popular among teens, making Jonas Brothers tickets highly sought-after. After three albums and six tours, it seemed like Jonas mania was but an afterthought, but the band began their return in 2012 and continued in 2013. Several dates later in the year were cancelled. Check back for future tour dates.

The Jonas Brothers grew up in the town of Wyckoff, New Jersey, where they were influenced by musicians like the Jackson 5 and the Ramones. Before the Jonas Brothers ever used these influences to develop as a group, each brother had to find his way in music individually. Nick, who shares lead vocals with Joseph, has been singing since he was just two years old. His talents were recognized when he began to sing when he was getting his hair cut at local barbershop. A woman who heard Nick singing immediately referred him to a show business manager. According to the Jonas Brothers' website, Joseph performed on Broadway at the early age of 7 in shows like A Christmas Carol, Beauty and the Beast, Les Miserables, and Annie Get Your Gun.

Kevin Jonas, the oldest brother, found his way to music one day when he was sick. As he walked around the house he found a guitar and a "Teach Yourself Guitar" book lying around. Over the next few days at home, he taught himself the basic chords of the instrument. Kevin now plays guitar and backup vocals for the Jonas Brothers. Joseph Jonas, meanwhile, had a different career plan, seeing himself as a comedian rather than a singer. However, Joseph's talent with singing led him to join his brothers.

Before the trio could come together as a group, the plans were for Nick to record a solo album. When Nick began submitting songs that incorporated his brothers, Columbia Records saw how talented the brothers were together and signed them as a group act. Their first single, "Mandy," was released in 2005 and was a hit on MTV's Total Request Live. However, it was their second single, "Year 3000," that made them skyrocket to hit status on the charts, clocking in at number 31. In August 2006, they released their debut album, It's About Time, which due to a limited release reached only 91 on the Billboard 200. However, it provided the Jonas Brothers the following they needed to make future albums a success. After signing with a new label, Hollywood Records, in early 2007, they followed up the debut with a self-titled sophomore album in August 2007. Coming in at number 5 and achieving U.S. sales of $1.8 million worldwide according to the RIAA, and including the hit single "S.O.S.," it launched the trio into superstardom.

Soon after the release of the album, the brothers began appearing in other media and events, including the Disney Channel show Hannah Montana, the Fox Teen Choice Awards, and Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. 2008 was a milestone year for the band, chiefly because of the release of their third album, A Little Bit Longer, which gave them a top spot on the charts and a second platinum certification. It included three hit singles, "When You Look Me in the Eyes," "Burnin' Up" and "Tonight"; the first two alone have sold over four million copies. They next released Lines Vines, and Trying Times in 2009 and V in 2013.

In addition to their musical pursuits, the brothers also appeared in two films: one a 3D film documenting several concerts conducted in 2008 and the other a Disney Channel film Camp Rock. Both co-starred Demi Lovato, and the 3D film additionally co-starred Taylor Swift. The Jonas Brothers have constantly toured since they started recording. Besides their own headlining gigs, the trio has toured with Lovato, Swift, Miley Cyrus, Avril Lavigne, and The Cheetah Girls.
