Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great concert !!! This was a wonderful concert with Stevie Winwood, all his band and his daughter Lilly Winwood. We were mesmerized from start to finish !!! There really was something for everyone - and there were all ages attending. He did songs from all his bands - Blind Faith, Traffic, Steve Winwood - and each song was a full version - no shortcuts here !! The big bass sound, along with the steel drums, regular drums, the horns, the organ - - - it was just superb. It evoked a lot of old memories for my husband and me - - we have liked Stevie Winwood since the 1960's and had kind of forgotten what really good music sounds like. Thank you for a wonderful performance to all the band.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As Always, Phenomenal I have seen Steve Winwood in Spencer Davis, Blind Faith, Traffic, and as a solo act. Each time was extraordinary as was this concert. Steve brought a fabulous band, each member was gifted in his own right and played the music with competence and feeling. The playlist was heavy on Traffic which was okay by me. Each song was amazing with a touch of improvisation. Steve played mandolin, guitar and organ and his voice was beautiful. It was a fabulous concert. Lilly Winwood, his daughter opened for him. She writes and performs songs and accompanies herself on the guitar. She was also wonderful.

About Steve Winwood

Steve Winwood was born in Birmingham, England, in 1948. As a child, Steve learned to play the piano, guitar, and drums, and enjoyed swing and jazz music. At age 15, Steve Winwood joined The Spencer Davis Group with his brother, Muff. He helped create the band's two biggest hits, "Gimme Some Lovin" and "I'm a Man," before he was twenty years old. In 1967, the singer left The Spencer Davis Group to form the rock band Traffic with Chris Wood, Jim Capaldi and Dave Mason. Over the next ten years, Traffic released seven Top 20 albums. Famous Traffic albums include Mr. Fantasy, John Barleycorn Must Die, and Shoot Out at the Fantasy Factory, but this was only the beginning for the young musician.

In 1969, Ginger Baker, Steve Winwood, Ric Grech, and Eric Clapton formed a supergroup called Blind Faith. Although they only produced one album, it was a major success. Blind Faith reached #1 on the charts in both the US and the UK and sold half a million copies within the first month of release. Despite the buzz of excitement, Blind Faith broke up after about seven months and Steve Winwood eventually pursued a solo career.

Perhaps he was tired of dealing with artistic differences, but Steve released his first solo album, Steve Winwood, in 1977. This album launched a highly successful period in the artist's career that included Steve Winwood tour dates and four platinum albums, Arc of a Diver, Talking Back to the Night, Back in the High Life, and Roll With It. Completed in 1988, Roll With It sparked the most sales, reaching the top of the Billboard charts while going double platinum. Recently, the blues singer has worked with Arturo Sandoval, Tito Puente, Tom Petty, and Eric Clapton. He released a new album, Nine Lives, in 2008.
