About The Fresh Beat Band

The Fresh Beat band launched on Nick Jr. in 2009. It features four characters - disc jockey Twist (Jon Beavers), drummer Marina (Tara Perry), keyboardist Shout (Thomas Hobson), and violinist Kiki (Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer) - who attend a music school and perform in a band together. Each episode typically depicts the quartet discovering a problem and working together to solve it, followed by a recounting of that episode's adventure with song, and closing with a dance routine.

Originally promoted as The JumpArounds, the name of the band was changed during the summer prior to airing. After the second season, Perry came on board as Marina, replacing Shayna Rose, who originally portrayed the character. Since the start of air, the show has become one of the top shows for pre-schoolers. Three singles and a soundtrack album have been released under the band's name. In late 2011 it was announced the band would embark on its first tour.
