Kevin Parker, the head honcho of Tame Impala, conceived the idea in Australia in 2007. Critics have been astounded with the creations of Tame Impala since their debut album in 2010. Pitchfork named Innerspeaker Best New Music. Their second studio album was released in 2012. Both Innerspeaker and Lonerism went on to win the J Award in Australia, making Tame Impala the first artist to win the award more than once. The album got Tame Impala into some of the hottest festivals and gigs, like Coachella, Sasquatch Festival, and on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
Parker's psychedelic, distorted style of music comes from his love of the ability for one person to create a symphony of sound. He is obsessed with the possibilities of today's recording software, and utilizes them to their full potential in his music. The creation of his new sounds comes from using pedals and effects that are in many studios, but in different, unconventional ways.
