About  Bill Maher

Laugh it up with Bill Maher, one of America’s favorite political comedians. He is most notably known for his talk show Real Time with Bill Maher. As he tours around the US, Bill Maher gives standup comedy a twist with political satire and observational humor. No topic can hide from Bill Maher as he gives his take on different cultural issues around the world. Get your Bill Maher tickets to see the controversial yet hilarious comedian tell it like it is.

The Beginnings

After Bill Maher graduated from Cornell University, he returned to New York City to host at Catch a Rising Star, a well-known comedy club owned by Rick Newman, in 1979. This comedy club is known for starting up the beginnings of successful careers for many notable singers and comedians such as Pat Benatar, Jerry Seinfeld, and Chris Rock. Bill Maher’s experience at Catch a Rising Star allowed him to make several appearances in talk shows and sitcoms throughout the 80s and 90s.

Soon enough, Bill Maher received his own late-night talk show entitled Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher in 1993. The show won a plethora of awards which included an Emmy Award, a Genesis Award, and several nominations. Despite the success, the show ran for nearly a decade until 2002.

Real Time with Bill Maher

Bill Maher soon picked up another comedy talk show called Real Time with Bill Maher. The format was like his previous talk show; however, it contained more experts and fewer celebrities. Despite this slight change, Bill Maher’s candid humor and comments remain a constant. The show has been running since 2003 with already 17 seasons under its belt. Larry King called the show one of the best shows on television.

Real Time has also received at least 12 Emmy nominations throughout its run so far. Funny enough, Bill Maher holds the record for having the most Emmy nominations without a single win. No matter what, the quality of his humor keeps showing as more nominations and positive reviews keep pouring in.

Bill Maher continues to make people laugh throughout the country. Politics is no match for Bill Maher’s cut-throat humor. His fearlessness is transferrable on all stages, whether it be through a screen or in front of a live audience. Luckily for fans, Bill Maher keeps to his standup comedy roots and continues to perform across the country. However, the Bill Maher tour schedule only has room for politically incorrect comedy.
