Korn's debut album came in 1994, recorded with Ross Robinson. The album peaked at number one of the Heatseekers Albums chart, and even reached No. 72 on the Billboard 200 chart. Critics said that their debut album unleashed a new wave of metal, something that had not been heard before. This album kickstarted both Korn and Ross Robinson's careers, and even influenced bands like Slipknot and Limp Bizkit.

Korn produced a weekly TV show called KornTV, where fans (nibletz) can call in and ask the band questions, while also sitting in on the bands recording. special guests like Limp Bizkit and 311 were featured on the show as well. Korn's third album, Follow the Leader, featured guest vocalists like Ice Cube, Pharcyde, Fred Durst and even Cheech Marin. The album was a complete success, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with more than 268,000 copies sold in its first week.

Music piracy came into the limelight in the early 2000's, which may have accounted for the drop in sales in their next few albums. Untouchables was released in 2002, containing experiments and sounds that were new to Korn. Instead of just a collection of chords, AllMusic said that the memorable riffs in the album take the shape of a dark structures and Helmet-like ringing guitars.

In 2016, Korn released their 12th studio album, "The Serenity of Suffering". Critics said their album was heavier than anything anyone has heard in a long time. Their latest album, The Nothing, was released in September of 2019. To announce the album, Korn played a concert within the multiplayer game AdventureQuest 3D featuring in game merchandise and a virtual meet and greet.

Primus, Alice in Chains, Cypress Hill, Ice Cube, and Rage Against the Machine are only a handful of the huge list of inspirations for Korn. Hip-hop places a big role in Korns music as well.
