About  Los Angeles Dodgers

Founded in 1883 in Brooklyn, NY, the Los Angeles Dodgers are one of the oldest baseball teams in existence. Since 1958, the team has called Los Angeles home, and have played at Dodger Stadium since it opened in 1962. The Los Angeles Dodgers were originally founded as the Brooklyn Atlantics and became a member of the American Association upon its creation. In 1890, the club joined the National League, where they won the NL Championship their first year in the league. In the 1930s, the team changed their name to the Dodgers. By this time, the Dodgers had made five trips to the World Series, but always came home empty handed.

In 1947, the Dodgers and Jackie Robinson made history, when the speedy second baseman made his debut for the team, becoming the first African American to play Major League Baseball. It was with Jack Robinson that the Dodgers won their first World Series in franchise history. The 1955 World Series was a matchup between the Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Yankees. The Dodgers came out victorious, winning in seven games. Jackie Robinson went on to become the first African American player to be voted into the Hall of Fame, which occurred in 1962. After failing to reach a deal with the city of New York for a new stadium, team owners decided to pack the franchise up and head west to Los Angeles in 1957. For their first four years in Tinseltown, the Los Angeles Dodgers played at LA Coliseum, while Dodger Stadium was under construction. Since the team made the move to Hollywood, the Dodgers have won nine National League Championships and five World Series. Today, the Dodgers are often compared to teams such as the New York Yankees and Chicago Cubs, as they are all considered prestigious teams in the sport. Make sure you find your Los Angeles Dodgers tickets today!

The Dodgers were able to make it to the 2017 World Series where they faced the Houston Astros in an intense matchup. Unfortunately, the Dodgers lost the series in seven games and the Astros won their first World Series in franchise history. But the Dodgers are back this season looking to head to the World Series yet again. With many great players on the roster including 2018 All-Stars Kenley Jansen, Matt Kemp, and Ross Stripling, the Dodgers are having another great season. Their regular season will end on September 30th with a game against the San Francisco Giants at AT&T Park. After that, the Dodgers are hopefully heading to the postseason. Will the Dodgers be able to win their seventh World Series title? There’s only one way to find out! TicketNetwork is your access to Los Angeles Dodgers tickets. Watch your team play live as they take on their NL West competitors including the Arizona Diamondbacks, Colorado Rockies, San Diego Padres, and San Francisco Giants. This may just be the year you can witness a World Series championship! Grab your Dodgers tickets from TicketNetwork today!
